Due to the success of Twyford School in attracting new pupils, The Practice has been appointed to undertake numerous projects on the campus. This included the expansion of the Pre-Prep accommodation which was housed in a large Edwardian house that stands in the spacious grounds towards the south of the main School buildings.
The first scheme The Practice undertook for Pre-Prep was for a single storey classroom linked to the existing building via a covered walkway. The building opens out to an external play space with a slide built into the contours of the ground.
The project was followed by a scheme to extend the existing Edwardian building which developed into a commission to provide a new stand-alone building.
The resulting building is two storeys tall, contains four classrooms and is traditional in scale and detail. It is clad in timber above a brick plinth topped with a plain tiled roof with dormer windows.
