The project extended Andover Data Centre, which was originally constructed in 1989, to accommodate additional service spaces to serve both the increased demands of the existing building and also anticipated future expansion. The extension, known as the Energy Centre, totals nearly 1000sqm, and is split over two floors. There are additional and extensive external plant facilities.

The existing building is a two-storey structure comprising a steel frame on piled foundations with concrete floors and is clad in silver coloured composite panels with exposed access gantries in yellow. The extension continued the original building aesthetic so it sits comfortably with the existing, whilst being subservient in its mass and form, with a lower roof profile.

The majority of the exposed plant is screened from the road and the extensive banks of louvres are picked out in blue which had been used extensively in the original building.

Further proposals were created to further expand the facility in a phased series of extensions.
